January Resolution!

January Resolution - Forget FAST FOOD! In January work to eliminate Fast Food from your diet. Not only does your body deserve better than that, but the boon to your bottom line will be a bonus too! Don't worry about not having time to cook, I'll be helping with that too - with a little planning we'll make sure that's taken care of.

New Year, New Me.

2013 is coming up really fast and just happens to be coinciding with me being able to get back to exercising again after having M.  In my last post I was mulling pregnancy weight gain and all that comes with it.  Well, I did pretty good.  I gained 12 pounds.  M was a little over 6#.  It's been 7 weeks and I have lost 35 pounds.  I am lighter than I have been in about 6 years.  I am ALMOST lighter than I was in 2006 - when I was working out 5-6 days a week and wondering why my weight was STOPPED!

Now I know so much more than I did back then.  Back then I just kept cutting calories and cutting calories.  I even went to the doctor and he told me to cut my diet back EVEN MORE to accelerate my weight loss.  Now I know that is NOT GOOD INFO!  I lose the most weight when I eat about 2000 calories a day while exercising.  If I plateau sometimes I even have to bump that to 2200 or 2400 calories.  Since I am breastfeeding that number will vary, sometimes day to day.

Go to http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm  and check out their calculators to help determine your caloric needs.

Then download the MyFitnessPal app on your phone or go to http://www.myfitnesspal.com  to create your food diary.  Add me as a friend :  metrychick and you can see my food diary, activity level and keep me on my toes!

I'm excited and doing a LOT of research on how to be successful!

Much Love,
C

Baby H!

In case you have been living under a rock lately you might not know that I am expecting my third child.  Unfortunately, this has triggered a weight gain panic in my mother.  She is terrified that I am going to get "fat".  If you don't know already, I am already slightly rounded.  With my other children I know I was a lot younger, but I didn't gain any weight with B and only 11 pounds with MG and she weighed almost 8.  I know what to do.  I am blessed that right now I am mostly craving fruit and that's a very good thing.

The average woman gains 20-35 pounds during each pregnancy.  Here's a breakdown:

Where Does All This Weight Gain Go?
Here is a breakdown of where you can expect the extra pounds to go:
Baby7-8 pounds
Placenta1-2 pounds
Amniotic fluid2 pounds
Uterus2 pounds
Maternal breast tissue2 pounds
Maternal blood4 pounds
Fluids in maternal tissue4 pounds
Maternal fat and nutrient stores7 pounds
Well.  I am looking forward to my wee one growing.  I can't wait to rock a bump - that way people will stop trying to rub my tummy fat!

Much Love,
C

The Little SPARK that keeps my day going....

There are days when I can't seem to get out of my own way and keep going.  I plan 1000 things and carry out usually about 994 of them in a day or busy weekend.  Sometimes I need the energy to just keep going a little more, whether its the energy to hit the gym again or to be with the girls on the party bus for a few hours.  I used to reach for 5 hour energy, but it tasted so awful then I discovered SPARK!  I just LOVE this stuff.   It tasted really really good and isn't harmful.  You should give it a try.  I recommend it.  I believe in it so much that I actually became a part of the company.
